PADOTD Jan. 20 1998!

Photgraph of Second Ward Building with link to larger picture

Depending on your age, you may have gone to school here. Now the building is home to the Westmoreland Multi-Service Center. Seniors from the area meet here for a wide variety of activities! The side lot is now Veterans Memorial Park, site of the Medic 10 Gazebo, John W. Geary Plaque, and the Veteran's Memorial. Follow the links on the picture menu to see those sites!

Photograph of Second Ward School pre-1920

The High School was built in 1908 with a graduating class of twenty-seven in 1910. By the 1920's the school was becoming overcrowded and was replaced as a high school in 1930. It continued to serve as a junior high and elementary school until 1975 when it became home to the Multi-Service Center. The photograph above is probably pre-1920.
