PADOTD Jan. 20 1998!

Doughboy statue on the Diamond in Mt. Pleasant, PA Mt. Pleasant is a small borough in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The population averages around 5000. Formerly a coal mining town, Mt. Pleasant's major industry now is in glass and crystal products. The three largest local employers are: Sony Engineering/Manufacturing of America, L.E. Smith Glass Co., and Lenox Crystal.

Mt. Pleasant is located in the foothills of the Laurel Highlands in Westmoreland County. Excellent skiing is about an hour away at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, or Hidden Valley. If you enjoy history visit the West Overton Museums, Fort Ligonier, Fort Necessity, Fallingwater, and Nemacolin Castle, all less than two hours away! We're also just 44 miles from downtown Pittsburgh which gives us close access to museums, major league sports, and some of the best medical facilities in the world!

As this site develops, I hope to bring you local news and information, personal stories from long-time residents, and of course, lots more pictures!

Questions, comments, and additions are always welcome!
