I am a GGGGG grandson of James Steel(e). According to a "James Steel, Imigrant Ancestor" pamphlet I have from 1922, James was born in Blayney Castle, Carrick Macross, County Monaghan, Province of Ulster.
He was born c. 1741. Arrived in PA 1771 or 1772. He married twice. Wife 1. Elizabeth MacMasters, sister of James MacMasters of Helca. Wife 2. Elizabeth Donaldson, sister of Robert and Andrew Donaldson of Franklin County.
Father of Jane, Joseph, Elizabeth, James, and John Steel(e).
He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Associators and was with the Revolutionary army for three years. James died 10 September 1823. He is buried in Middle Presbyterian graveyard, Mt. Pleasant Twp.
I would like to know more about the Mt. Pleasant Associators.
Also in what unit would James most likely have served in the Rev War?
I found a James Steel listed in the PA Rifle Regiment, but I don't
know if its my ancestor? I would appreciate any and all information.

My grandfather was Gotlieb STEINDL m. Mary KROLL who was maybe Mary Baldauf before marrying Gottlieb. My father and his brothers changed the spelling from STEINDL to STEINDEL. My grandparents immigrated from Austria in the late 1880's. They lived on College Ave. in Mt. Pleasant where my father was born (1899) and raised. Any information regarding them will be appreciated since I never met any of my fathers relatives except for one uncle and cousin.

E. H. Steinman came to Mt. Pleasant in late 1905 with his wife Alice. He was most likely employed by the Pittsburgh Commerce Company and soon became involved in the development of the Duncan Plan of Lots. Eventually, he became President and then receiver of several industries that started factories on the Plan, especially the Anchor Glass Company. The 1910 census had Mr. Steinman residing in Mt. Pleasant. Any information on him from that time onward is desired.

Searching for Bruce N.Stevens...b. June 1898 ... Bruce is deceased but no death certificate was filed therefore he still shows alive. His father's name is Joshua and mother Martha (Spidel) Stevens... Joshua m. Souville (Barber) Stevens....the family lived in and or near Johnstown Pa. for many years.
