I am looking for any information on William and Lucy Wall who emigrated from England and settled in Mount Pleasant. William was fifty-two when he and his wife left England and they were accompanied by at least one child, William Coventry Wall, who was then eleven. In 1825, they had another son, Alfred S. Wall, presumbaly born at Mount Pleasant. Young William Coventry Wall was apprenticed to a stonemason but eventually became an artist, as did his brother, Alfred. In fact, they were two of the first significant landscape painters to live and work in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The Walls probably lived in Mount Pleasant only until about 1840.
