According to my Great Grandfather's obituary (in the Johnstown Tribune), he married my Great Grandmother in Minersville, PA in 1878. Their names were George Washington Adams, hers was Eliza Jane Colbert. What county is Minersville in? I have other documentation that says they were from Morrellville, PA. Is this near Minersville? I am trying to find information on my family. My father was an Askins and
his Great-Great grandfather was Howard Erskine and Howard's father may have been Joseph Erskine. Howard's son Aaron changed his name from Erskine to Askins and that is all I know. Do you have any information that you could share with me to help me find out more on the family names? Aaron moved to Pennsylvania with his wife from New York.
Howard died in Hudson, Lenawee County, Michigan on April 16, 1878. His wife's name was Mary "Polly" Davis Erskine. If you have any records of these individuals, could you please let me know. I cannot find anything on them. Howard was born in Andes, Delaware, New York in 1794. His wife Mary "Polly" Davis was born in Andes, Delaware, New York in 1798.
